1984 - Chapter 06: A Plan Set | | Author: | Daniels_Girl | | Genre: | General | | Rating: | G | | Score: | 4.75 | | Story: | Harry took the chance and sat down with the Marauders. “Hey guys, what’s up?” He helped himself to stew and a biscuit. All of the Marauders stared at Harry. One thing that interested Moony was the fact that Harry and James looked so much alike. Their hair both stood on ends, and they both had glasses. Their body frames were the same, and they were the same height. The only difference was the fact that Harry had emerald eyes and a lightning shaped scar on his forehead, an item which James seemed to be missing. “Where did you get that scar?” Lupin asked. Harry’s eye’s widened. “My-my scar?” “Yes, the one shaped like lightning on your forehead.” Harry threw his hand to his head and felt the scar. He then looked at Ginny and saw her looking back, so he smiled excitedly and tried to tell her that his scar was back. He then turned back to the guys and told them his scar was from a car accident when he was little. He didn’t mention the fact the he’d stolen the idea from his aunt and uncle. “Muggle-born?” Sirius asked. “Well, not exactly…” Harry said. “My parents died when I was young and the only place for me to stay was with my mum’s sister, who is a muggle.” “I bet that sucked,” said James. They were talking to him like he was part of their group. It felt great. “So James, how about Lily, hey?” Harry nudged him a bit and said, “Hey? Heeeyy?” James went slightly red and continued eating his lunch. “Come on, everyone knows.” Harry finally said. “No, no, it’s not that. I know everyone knows I like Lily. But that’s the problem. I think I like Ginny.” Harry followed James’ gaze and saw it rest upon Ginny and Lily. James then gave Ginny a cute wave. “I’m hoping that was to Lily.” Harry said uncomfortably at the fact that his dad was in love with his girlfriend. “No, it was towards Ginny,” James said happily. Harry looked at Ginny and she looked excited while talking to Lily. Harry’s mouth dropped. “Hey, is there anything between you two?” James asked. “Well actually-” “Good,” James cut him off. He went back to his lunch. Harry joined in and finished his lunch as quickly as he could so he could go and talk to Ginny. He shoved in his last spoonful of stew and said “I gof few tok few Ginny.” And with that he was off to do his business. He swallowed hard and tapped Ginny on the shoulder. He looked at Lily and she gave him an adoring smile. He smiled a weak uncomfortable smile. “Ginny, a word?” he said hopingly. She more than willingly got up and followed Harry out of the doors to the Entrance Hall. “We have a problem,” Harry started. “Tell me about it.” “What’s your problem?” Harry asked “Lily likes…Lily likes you!” Harry dropped his mouth open and gave her a horrified look that had “Eww!” written all over it. “Yeah, I know!” said Ginny. “Well that could be a problem. ’Cause my dad likes you.” “What?” Ginny couldn’t believe her ears. “What are we going to do?” “I have no idea…” Harry said, completely boggled. They decided to take it up with the headmaster. “Professor, what do we do? I can’t live with the fact that my sixteen year old mother has the hots for me!” “And his sixteen year old father likes me!” Ginny said shrilly. “I understand, we’ll-” “How are we supposed to work this out?” Harry asked Ginny rather than Dumbledore. “I have an idea, we’ll have to-” “I have no idea, this is just ludicrous.” Ginny replied to Harry’s question. Dumbledore finally simply folded his hands and watched them try to figure things out. After much deliberation, they finally came to the conclusion that there was nothing they could do. “If I may put my thought forward…” Dumbledore finally said. Harry and Ginny were now seated on the other side of the table. “I suggest that you go with Lily and James, and deal with it from there.” “You mean…you mean like, date them? No, you cannot put your thought forward if that’s what it is!” Harry said quite hysterically. “Harry, you can simply let them down easily if you know how they work. You can set them in the right direction.” Harry sat there, thinking of the pros and cons of this idea. His mind was racing and his mouth was hung low. “I agree,” Ginny said, obviously thinking it through a lot quicker than Harry. “You…what?” Harry questioned. “I agree with Professor Dumbledore.” Ginny said slowly, thinking it through one more time. “But…But I…She’s my mother!” Harry said in disgust. Both Dumbledore and Ginny gave him a look which clearly said, “You have to.” Harry gave a snarl and got up. He was about to head for the door, but then he decided not to. Then he changed his mind again, but once more turned around to Dumbledore. “My scar came back, why’s that?” Realizing something, Ginny gasped and said, “That’s why you were pointing at your head!” “Yes, you’re scar is back because coming back in time restored you to your full self. But, if you haven’t fulfilled your duty, it will start to fade again.” “Right… And another question, how come at the beginning of the summer, I had to stay with the Grangers instead of the Weasleys?” At that, Ginny looked over to Dumbledore. Her face was curious inside and out. “Well my older self had told me about the situation, and I suggested that he keep you away from the wizarding world, hoping that it would disperse. That, however, wasn’t the case, so we had no choice but to bring you here.” Harry nodded, “Alright. Just as long as we got that cleared up. Come on Ginny, time to take incest to the max.” Harry said as a joke, but still very blah. They left the headmaster’s office once more and were off down the corridor. They saw James first. “Well, here we go.” Ginny said, taking a deep breath. She was holding Harry’s hand. She then gave Harry a quick peck on his face, right next to his mouth, and was off towards his father. Harry watched his love walk towards his dad and join the Marauders’ conversation immediately. Harry turned around and saw Lily emerging from the library. Harry quickly caught up. “Hey Lily, wait up!” he said, darting after her. “Hey, what’s up?” Lily looked up, wide eyed, at the person that was before her. “Can I walk with you?” Harry said charmingly. She nodded, still wide eyed. Harry was scared as he looked back at Ginny, pulling a shuddering breath and heading down the corridor with his mother. “So, tell me about yourself.” Harry said, making small talk. “Well, I don’t care much for boys, and I think good grades are important.” “Oh,” was all Harry could think of to say. “Do you get good grades?” “No.” She looked at him. “Are you serious? There’s no explanation, none of the ‘I try but I don’t succeed’, or anything?” “Nope.” He felt so uncomfortable trying to “Win over” his mother that he didn’t know exactly what to say. “Well. As long as you’re honest,” she said, opening her book again. They were now outside, and the sun was still shining. She sat on a bench and read her book. “What’re you reading?” Harry asked, sitting beside her. She didn’t say anything. She only lifted the book in front of his face without taking her nose out of it. It read “Travelling the centuries with Pete Pathagarow” “Oh,” said Harry, nodding and looking down at his folded hands. He started jiggling his leg uncomfortably. “So,” he said. “You know, you don’t have to make small talk with me. You can just leave.” “Who said I don’t want to talk to you?” “Oh please, I can tell.” “Well…I…” The bell rang for the end of lunch. Harry let out an extreme sigh and thought ‘Saved by the bell’. “Well alright. I guess I’ll talk to you later then. Have a good day.” He got up and hurried off inside. Ginny looked as relieved as Harry when he met up with her. She jumped on him in a huge hug and said, “Never let me go.” Harry laughed, “Didn’t have that much luck either?” “No!” Ginny then grabbed Harry’s hand and they went to the common room to discuss the events that had happened earlier. When they arrived in the common room, there was no one there, as they expected. Harry sat down on the chair he would usually sit in, if it where his time. Ginny smiled at him as he opened his arms as to say, “My lap is open.” “We need to discuss what’s happened.” he said as she happily placed herself on his lap. As soon as she was seated and without warning, Harry placed his lips upon hers. She broke away, smiling. “Good use of your mouth, but this time use words.” Ginny said. Harry smiled weakly. “So, what happened with James?” Harry asked, placing his hand on Ginny’s lap. “Well, other than making googly eyes at me, he kept ruffling his hair and did everything slyly.” Remembering how James had acted in the pensive a year back, Harry laughed and agreed, “Yeah, that’s my dad alright.” “So, what about you, Romeo, how was your mum?” “Spectacular! There was a main course of ignorance with a side of battering eyelashes. She read her book and tried to get me to go away, but she liked having me around. I don’t get it.” Ginny laughed. “Oh boys! You’re all the same. She was playing hard to get.” “Playing hard to what?” “Hard to get. She wants you, but she doesn’t want to give in too easily because she doesn’t want to get hurt.” “Girls, you’re all the same,” Harry mimicked. “So what do I do?” “You charm her. You do everything in your power to make her love you. Which won’t be too hard,” she added, giving him a wink. “And then you break her little heart.” Harry looked hysterical. “This is going to be fun.” he said mockingly.
