"If we turn our heads and look away and hope that it will all disappear then they will - all of them, an entire generation of people. And we will have only history left to judge us."

Goblet of Fire DVD:
Miscellaneous Information

The Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire DVD will hit shelves across the globe on Tuesday, March 7, more than a month earlier than any of the previous Harry Potter movies have been released on home video. Several editions of the DVD will be released, ranging from a one-disc DVD containing only the movie ($28.98) to a two-disc deluxe edition, featuring both the movie along with a vast array of additional material (deleted scenes, behind-the-scenes segments, etcetera; $30.97). Additionally, an 8-disc set of all 4 movies will be released on the same date, and it will sell for $73.92.

For the first time, the Goblet of Fire will be released in the new HD DVD format (high-definition DVD) in addition to the regular DVD. (This was announced at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas on January 5, 2005.) The Goblet of Fire HD DVD will be released on April 11, a month after the release of the regular DVD.

Rumors about the regular DVD's release date first surfaced on the Internet in November 2005, and Warner Bros. announced the actual date - March 7, 2006 - on the morning of January 11, 2006. Among the rumored dates were March 4, April 7, and April 11, two of which proved to have merit. Several weeks later, the British division of WB announced - to the dismay of many British fans - that the DVD would not be released in the UK until March 20. It was said to be a matter of "scheduling," though that was not elaborated upon.

Surprisingly, no launch party for the DVD will be held this year, as Warner Bros. is quite busy with Order of the Phoenix casting and filming.
